We still are able to appreciate Pontic music and dance where as the dialect is gradually disappearing. Fewer people engage themselves in the Pontic history, traditions and customs and thus there exists a possibility of the Pontic culture fading into oblivion. Hence the creation of this internet site, where everybody whether young or old, woman or man, in Germany, Greece or America, can learn and discover everything about the culture of Pontos. e-Pontos.net will strive to reflect the Pontic history, all facets of its culture like the importance of Christianity to this region and also the geographical aspects of Pontos. The goal is to induce sensitivity in people all over the world, be it Pontic Greeks or not, to this culture and history and to offer them its richness so that it is not lost forever.
